Herz Armaturen GmbH has published the Herz TS application, and users of Android or Apple mobile or tablet devices are able to use the simple, handy and free tool.
HERZ TS has two main components that share calculation and database: Preset Calculator and Radiator Valve Selection Tool.
Pre-setting Calculator for known valve selected from the list of Herz Radiator Valves. The user inputs the values of flow and pressure and program calculates the kv-value, then displays valves within kv-value range, according to the pre-setting diagrams.
Main purpose of this program feature is instant elimination of the valves that are not suitable for particular operating conditions
Input: Valve type, valve dimension, pressure drop, and flow rate. Output: Radiator valve preset and kv.
Before calculation it is recommended to do unit and language setup.
- Default flow unit is l/h, and default pressure unit mbar.
Calculation is proceeded for known valve and dimesion, and for result follow the steps:
1. Choose valve dimension
Preset value is shown in yellow box.
5. Whether the pre-set value is out of the range, the user should change input values, or change valve dimension or model.
Technical info with image of the current valve is instantly available.
Tablet devices has additional feature: changing the valve item on the left menu list instantly calculates and presents pre-set value for the same operating conditions (dp i q) and valve size (DN) on the main frame of the application.
This feature is available on the mobile phones, but due to limited display area user have to step back, choose new valve and then the preset for the new valve is shown on the screen.
Valve Selector based on calculated kv-value. Pressure drop and flow rate based calculation provides an applicable valve list with preset. The user is able change Units in App Settings menu and use common values avoiding calculation errors due to unit conversion mistakes.
Selector provides fast switching of valves with instant calculation of the preset position.
This feature usage saves the time spent on reviewing preset diagrams or tables stored in printed comprehensive product documentation.
Radiator Valve Selector includes an option for valves with fixed-kv values.
Output: Aplicable valves list (valves within the operating range), radiator valve preset and kv. Fixed-kv valves have no preset value, and the Valve Selector section for this type of valves provides aplicable valves list.
